There was a saying after World War One that our troops had been ‘lions but led by donkeys’.  Wirral Council has many staff who do a tremendous job and really make every effort to do their best for the residents of the Borough.  Sadly, the leadership that every organisation needs, just isn’t there.

Today, Wirral Council has been rated with just two ’stars’ by the independent Audit Commission, barely ahead of Liverpool, which has the shame of being the ‘Worst Council in Britain’.

Will this be a wake up call to the councillors?  I doubt it.  Most of the ruling group appear to be in denial.
