Instead of the stuffy old-fashioned ’surgery’, I operate CouncillorDirect. This means any resident can contact me in the way they prefer. Depending on the caseload I have on at any one time, I also try to respond by a visit to the resident.

re; Vodaphone 10 metre pole at Burnley Road & submit of planning application, before receiving permission, a large holehas been dug in THE ROAD on the corner of Burnley Road/Hoylake Road which is causing serious traffic problems.
I nearly had a collision with a car turning riight into Burnley Road (at speed to avoid oncoming traffic.)
I was coming out of Burnley Road – driving on the wrong side to avoid the hole. The car turning to Burnley Road had to slam on his brakes to avoid a head on collision with me. He stopped within inches from me. A car, coming the other way up Hoylake Road, had to perform an emergency stop to avoid slamming into the side of him. Following cars all succesfully performed emergency stops. ALL because of this dangerous hole.
I hope something is done about this before a serious accident occurs.
Is this a matter for the police – or, who is responsible??
Your news letter is the first I knew about Vodaphone’s plans and I certainly object to this pole being constructed in such a bad place.
Interestingly, had there been a mutliple car smash up, who would have been responsible?
I kindly await your immediate response.
