Leah was first selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Wallasey in 2005. At the 2005 General Election, Leah was the first Conservative candidate in more than 25 years to secure an increase in the Conservative vote. Leah’s blog can be found here www.leahfraser.com
Leah was raised in Wallasey and attended Weatherhead School for Girls. Leah is married to Tim and they have two children. Her late father-in-law was Ian Fraser VC.
Leah first became involved in local politics to fight for a children’s play area to be refurbished, after years of council neglect. Leah, and the ‘Friends’ Group she established and chaired, raised almost £100,000 to renovate Wallacre Park Play Area.
Since then, Leah has worked with local residents on a range of issues across the area, including: the fight against Post Office closures; campaigned with staff and unions against the closure of two hospital wards and, most recently, to save libraries, leisure centres, theatres and museums from proposed cuts by the Labour-led Council.
Leah also holds regular ‘Green Action Days’ around Wallasey and Moreton, to clean up grot spots and to make the area cleaner, greener and safer.
